Shalva Papuashvili: 40% of the Association Agreement has already been implemented by Georgia and we are quite close to the European Union at the legislative level

According to the Speaker of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, Georgia will most likely send the second part of answers to the EU questionnaire tomorrow.

As he told journalists, 40% of the Association Agreement has already been implemented by Georgia and the country is quite close to the European Union at the legislative level.

"Today, in addition to celebrating Victory Day, we are also celebrating Europe Day. It is important that today Georgia is in a completely different process, we have already applied for EU membership. The process has begun and we are grateful to the European Union for making a questionnaire for our country as soon as possible, which was filled out in a short time. The first part has already been handed over and most likely, the second part of answers will be handed over tomorrow. Georgia-Ukraine-Moldova issue is discussed together, we are three countries that are at the same stage. At the same time, Georgia is one of the leaders in the implementation of the Association Agreement and other issues among the three countries. 40% of the Association Agreement has already been implemented by Georgia and in this regard we are quite close to the European Union at the legislative level," said Shalva Papuashvili.

The second, sectoral part of the questionnaire includes 33 chapters and up to 2300 questions in all sectoral directions. The European Union set May 13 as the deadline for the submission of answers, but Georgia filled out the questionnaire before the deadline.
