According to Carl Hartzell, Georgia could have been better prepared for this historic moment

According to EU Ambassador to Georgia Carl Hartzell, Georgia has clearly made great progress on the path of reforms over the years, at the same time, the country could have been better prepared for this historic moment, as it coincides with a time when the EU is expressing growing concern about the country's trajectory.

He said the slow pace of reforms had created a political crisis in the country in which all parties have their share of responsibility.

According to him, the EU's public reactions to certain developments that have taken place in Georgia in recent years are known, including questions about the democratic elections, the July 5 violence and its consequences, the protection of the rights of journalists and minorities, the rule of law, human rights and respect for institutions, as well as the State Inspector's Service.
