Grigol Vashadze: All the people who were financial managers in the embassies, when we were in power, have now become ministers - and you see the result!

“The European Parliament resolution does not need many comments - this is the toughest resolution for Georgia!” opposition MP Grigol Vashadze told journalists.

According to Vashadze, what happened in the European Parliament is the "merit" of the Government.

"The state, which had been perceived in Brussels, Washington and Berlin as the locomotive of reforms throughout the post-Soviet space, turned out to be a loser. If we start looking for reasons and blame each other - which the Georgian political class loves so much - then let us recall the main postulate of European political life: the Government is always responsible for failure! What happened in the European Parliament is the "merit" of the Government. It is enough to recall just two days: July 5, when journalists were abused, beaten and insulted with obscene words, and the April 19 agreement, when the European Union did its best to return Georgia's political life to a more or less civilized environment. For some reason some thought the European Union would forget the insults we inflicted on it and its top official. There are two weeks left before the decision of the European Commission. During these two weeks, it is necessary for our officials, who go on tours to Brussels, to arrive there, meet with MEPs, talk to them and find out all the criticism against us, although we know perfectly well what this criticism is about: law enforcement system, penitentiary system, illegal surveillance, electoral system. Make a commitment to remedy it all!

There is an alternative to this - the leadership of the Georgian Dream may continue saying from high tribunes that the resolutions of the European Parliament are worthless. This is the second solution for them.

The opposition has no access to anything, nobody asks us anything, they say they know everything themselves, they are specialists in everything, they are brilliant masters of diplomacy. All the people who were financial managers in the embassies, when we were in power, have now become ministers. And you see the result!" said Grigol Vashadze.
