The Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán, supports the granting of EU candidate status not only to Ukraine and Moldova, as recommended by the European Commission, but also to Georgia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. This was announced by the spokesperson of the Hungarian Government.
Viktor Orban took part in a video conference together with the leaders of Belgium, Bulgaria, Estonia, Luxembourg and Malta, as well as the head of the European Council, Charles Michel.
At the meeting, the Hungarian Prime Minister agreed with the European Commission's recommendation on granting EU candidate status to Ukraine and Moldova, but noted that Budapest "and several other EU members" believe that Georgia, as well as Bosnia and Herzegovina, should also receive the status.
