According to the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, last week the leaders of the European Union made several important geopolitical decisions, including the recognition of the European perspective of Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia.
According to him, "Kremlin's barbaric war against Ukraine has created a new geopolitical reality."
"Last week, together with the 27 leaders of the European Union, we made a number of important geopolitical decisions. First, we decided to recognize the European perspective of Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia. The future of these countries and their people lies within the European Union," said Charles Michel at the plenary session of the European Parliament.
According to him, the second important decision made by the European Union was granting candidate status to Ukraine and Moldova.
"We have also decided to grant candidate status to Ukraine and Moldova. This sends a strong message to their people and EU citizens. We are also ready to grant Georgia candidate status as soon as the priorities presented in the Commission's report are resolved," added Michel.
