Businessman Davit Khidasheli makes the first comment on the information about the possible acquisition of VTB Bank Georgia.

InterPressNews spoke to Davit Khidasheli, however, when asked whether the information about his possible purchase of VTB Bank Georgia is true, Khidasheli refrained from giving a direct answer. On the one hand, the businessman noted that he has planned 47 projects in Georgia and will complete all of them, and on the other hand, he said that "there are groundless defamation attempts" against him.

"I have 47 projects planned in Georgia. No matter how many lies they write about me, no matter who tries to spread misinformation or stop me, I will complete every project.

I have not participated in politics, I do not participate in it and I do not intend to participate in it in any way. I am a Georgian and I am trying to help restore and rectify the borders of Georgia. Georgia belongs to Georgians and I am part of them.

As for defamation attempts against me with lies and baseless accusations, you have created such a vulnerable democracy there that there is no point in suing - they write and say whatever they want, the tongue has no bones as the saying goes.

They will distort my answer too, attach something to it and cover it like that, I have no doubt," Khidasheli told IPN.

In response to the clarifying question of the agency, whether the mention of misinformation on his part means that he does not confirm the information about the acquisition of the bank, he said: "Speaking in advance is equal to bragging. I will let you know when I do or buy something."
