Soso Gogashvili's bodyguard Aleksandre Samkharadze charged with illegal storage of ammunition

Aleksandre Samkharadze, the bodyguard of the former deputy head of the Security Service, Soso Gogashvili, was charged with illegal storage of ammunition.

According to his lawyer, Ramaz Chinchaladze, the case concerns the cartridges recovered as a result of the search of his residence.

"The charge was brought under the third part of Article 236 of the Criminal Code, which refers to the illegal storage of ammunition. He was an employee of the State Security Service, he had a staff weapon. When he resigned, he brought back the weapon and forgot to bring back the bullets, and this led to his criminal prosecution. On June 16, when his residence was searched, these bullets were found and he was charged today," said Ramaz Chinchaladze.

According to the lawyer, the court will probably discuss Aleksandre Samkharadze's case tomorrow. According to the lawyer, no preventive measure should be used against Samkharadze.
