Afgan Mukhtarli: Today, together with the lawyer, we will get acquainted with the materials of the case of my kidnapping in the Prosecutor's Office - tomorrow, I will address the Prime Minister and the Parliament to dismiss the Minister of Internal Affairs

Today, together with the lawyer, we will get acquainted with the materials of the case of my kidnapping in the Prosecutor's Office. In addition, I demand that Ivanishvili and the Minister of Internal Affairs Vakhtang Gomelauri testify in connection with the mentioned case, Azerbaijani journalist Afgan Mukhtarli said at the press conference.

In addition, he noted that tomorrow he will write to the Georgian Parliament and the Prime Minister, requesting the dismissal of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Vakhtang Gomalauri.

"As you know, Gogashvili said that I was kidnapped on the orders of Ivanishvili, and the Minister of Internal Affairs, Vakhtang Gomelauri, also figures in this case. We demand that Ivanishvili and Gomelauri testify in this regard. Also, tomorrow I will write to the Prime Minister and the Parliament that the Minister of Internal Affairs should be dismissed, because he is involved in the case of my abduction. Such a person cannot be a Minister, because he will put pressure on the Prosecutor's Office. In addition, him being a Minister is morally unjustified. In other democratic states, ministers make a decision to resign for crimes of less significance than this," said Afgan Mukhtarli.

For information, Afgan Mukhtarli disappeared in Tbilisi on May 29, 2017. Later it turned out that he was in Azerbaijan. He was charged with three counts - illegally crossing the state border of Azerbaijan, smuggling and resisting a government official. On January 12, 2018, the Azerbaijani court sentenced Afgan Mukhtarli to 6 years in prison, although he was released from the Azerbaijani prison a year ago. The remaining years were considered conditional.
