Minister of Economy: We can assure our opponents, sanctions are not circumvented, we enjoy full trust from our international partners

We can assure our opponents, sanctions are not circumvented. They are ambushed in ports and airports, sometimes they take useless pictures and publish them, but all they spread, as always, are lies and lies, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development and Vice Prime Minister, Levan Davitashvili said during his speech at the plenary session of the Parliament.

As he noted, circumventing sanctions is "another topic of the opponents, whose only goal is to somehow discredit the Georgian Government in the international community."

"They tried many things and they had some success, directed against our European integration, but they failed in much more things because we enjoy full trust from our international partners and we act together with the international community.

As for sanctions control, Georgia is one of the exemplary countries in terms of sanctions enforcement, and this has been confirmed by numerous international evaluations, including by international partners. The enforcement system of Georgia is quite open, the customs services are open, and the Minister of Finance also spoke about this. We opened the door to the ambassadors of all partner countries and showed them how the customs system works so that sanctions cannot be circumvented. We have shared information with our international partners and we are not alone in these decisions.

So we can appease our opponents, there is no circumvention of sanctions. They are ambushed in ports, airports, sometimes they take useless pictures and publish them, but all the facts, as always, are lies and lies. All their efforts are in vain. The Maritime Administration receives documents in advance, these documents are verified through the relevant channels, and then we make decisions. So, Georgia carries out its international obligations with absolutely high responsibility and efficiency", said Davitashvili.
