In connection with the Vake Park tragedy, 5 opposition parties and independent deputies of Tbilisi City Assembly summon Kakha Kaladze to an extraordinary session of the Assembly

In connection with the Vake Park tragedy, 5 opposition parties and independent deputies of Tbilisi City Assembly summon Mayor Kakha Kaladze to an extraordinary session of the Assembly on October 31, at 11:00.

"It is shameful for all the officials who avoid the questions after the tragedy and in order to avoid the questions, they violate the law, they hold the meeting of the Tbilisi government with a police cordon, and in this way they also violate the law. But, we must be transparent before the people of Tbilisi and ask questions about safety and corruption," Lelo deputy Saba Buadze said.

According to him, Kaladze's statement yesterday, when he said that he will come to the Assembly when he considers it necessary, is a manifestation of the worst political culture.

"In any case, we plan to hold this session, and whether Georgian Dream will participate in this extraordinary session, it will be seen. I think it should be in their interest first that these questions be asked in the Assembly. In the best case, the majority should be the initiator of such type of meetings, but we can clearly see how the accountability system has collapsed," Buadze noted.

According to the deputy of the United National Movement, Sopio Japaridze, after the tragedy in Vaki Park, they have questions whether Tbilisi is a safe city and whether parents can safely let their children out.

According to Japaridze, the mayor is obliged to come to the Assembly and answer all the questions.

"We are waiting for you, Mr. Kakha, in the City Assembly, so that all the questions are answered and parents have peace of mind, which our citizens really deserve," Japaridze said.
