Dimitri Gvritishvili: Is it that someone really wants Georgia to join the EU, but the election of Murusidze-Gvritishvili stands in the way? - I'm asking you, where is the clan, in the court or in the non-governmental sector?

It is absolutely incomprehensible to me and my colleagues how the election of two judge members to the Supreme Council of Justice could lead to a delay in the country's European integration process - is it that someone really wants Georgia to join the EU, but the election of Murusidze-Gvritishvili stands in the way? Do you seriously consider this?! - said Dimitri Gvritishvili, a judge member of the Supreme Council of Justice.

He also criticized the non-governmental sector and said that the so-called clan operates in the non-governmental sector, not in the court.

"For me, the non-governmental sector is a unity of absolutely politicized subjects, really formed on the clan principle, because in no case can I hear a different opinion from them. There is one person like a guru, Eka Gigauri, who speaks the truth, and others are nodding without any dissenting opinions. I'm asking you, where is the clan, in the court or in the non-governmental sector?" Gvritishvili said.

He also spoke about his motivation to return to the Supreme Council of Justice as a judge member and noted that he exposes everyone who wants to neutralize this most important institution and cause division in the judiciary.

"As an ordinary judge, I could not speak out, as a member of the Council, as a representative of judges, based on my status, my future plan and future direction will be to speak openly. The Supreme Council of Justice, which is a constitutional body, the most important institution, is being left out of the game, this institution is being annulled and unhealthy communication is being made with individual judges, that is, there is an attempt to divide the judiciary into good, professional and honest judges, and on the other hand, to create a so-called black list of judges that should be removed from the system. First of all, I will fight against this with facts and evidence. All those subjects who deliberately plan and try to neutralize the Supreme Council of Justice, to leave it out of the game and to cause division in the judicial corps by establishing unhealthy communication with individual judges, will be exposed," Gvritishvili said.
