According to SSG, the representatives of the Russian occupation forces illegally detained a Georgian citizen in the territory of occupied Gali

According to the State Security Service of Georgia, the representatives of the Russian occupation forces illegally detained Georgian citizen in the occupied territory of Gali.

According to the agency, the citizen was returning to Zugdidi from the occupied Gali territory, and that's when s/he was illegally detained.

"According to the information shared by the hotline, the illegally detained person had a package of drugs with him/her.

In connection with the fact of illegal detention, the hotline was immediately activated. The co-chairs of the international discussions in Geneva and our international partners are informed about another serious incident carried out by the occupying forces.

Active efforts are being made to release all citizens of Georgia who are illegally imprisoned in the occupied territories, using all available mechanisms of the central government.

The occupying power is fully responsible for the fact of illegal detention of Georgian citizens," the stated reads.
