Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu: Not only Ukrainians, but also Moldovans, Georgians and other partners are paying the price of the ongoing war in Ukraine

We support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, including Crimea, and continue to provide material assistance to Ukraine. At the same time, we are taking various steps to stop the conflict and ease the tension, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said in his speech at the Bucharest Forum.

He spoke about Turkey's role in reaching an agreement on grain, the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, and the ongoing prisoner exchange negotiations.

"This is only part of the steps we are taking. We are also taking certain steps confidentially," said the head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry.

According to him, mere condemnation will not solve the problem and action is needed.

"Not only Ukrainians, but also Moldovans, Georgians and other partners are paying the price. Today we talked to the Prime Minister of Moldova and he told us how much Moldova is suffering because of the war in the neighboring country. Mere condemnation will not solve the problem. We must act to ensure a just peace, for a just peace for Ukraine. This is what Turkey is trying to do," Çavuşoğlu said.
