Nugzar Tsiklauri: The party took a step back - money and informal influences won over politics and political ideals

The party took a step back with today's decision. Today's decision means that money and informal influences won over politics and political ideals, Nugzar Tsiklauri, a member of the United National Movement, stated.

As Tsiklauri noted, he does not agree with the course of governance of the new management and will oppose them in all possible democratic ways.

"As long as Mikheil Saakashvili is in prison, the only correct decision will be membership of this party. For me, as well as for many of my friends, political goals remain unchanged in the current political stage. This is the freedom of Mikheil Saakashvili and the defeat of the Russian regime in Georgia.

I do not agree with the course of governance of the new management, nor with the statements that we heard during the pre-election period, and I will oppose it in all possible democratic ways. Also, I will not have any participation in the process that will be formed as a result of informal influences in relation to the management," said Nugzar Tsiklauri.

For information, Levan Khabeishvili became the chairman of National Movement. He won 52.58% of the votes. As for other candidates - Nika Melia received 40% of the votes, Giorgi Mumladze - 3.68%, and Nona Mamulashvili - 3.73%. 41,264 people took part in the election of the chairman of the National Movement.
