Kakha Kaladze: The Georgian government will play by Georgian rules - if a political decision is made regarding not granting the status, they can keep it for themselves

Since 2012, our government has been taking concrete steps for the European integration of our country, but what we are hearing now, even in relation to Mikheil Saakashvili, the campaign against our country, is categorically unacceptable, and our so-called friends are involved in this directly, said the general secretary of Georgian Dream, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze.

According to him, public statements made by MEPs about Georgia are "based on absurdity, lies and misinformation".

"We have been hearing absurd statements for so long, and we have also seen some absurd resolutions that are not true. I repeat once again, since 2012, our government has been taking concrete steps for the European integration of our country, but what we are hearing now, even in relation to Mikheil Saakashvili, whatever campaign has been carried out against our country, is categorically unacceptable, and our so-called friends are involved in this directly. Each of their statements is based on absurdity, lies and misinformation.

As for Bidzina Ivanishvili, I have said it many times and I will repeat it again, that this is a person who, along with a lot of charity and good deeds, took the most important steps related to his entry into politics. This ended the bloody regime represented by Mikheil Saakashvili and his brothers.

The Georgian government will play by Georgian rules. It will be based on the national interests of our people, country. If their political decision regarding not granting the status is taken, despite the fact that our government has done everything and is doing everything on this difficult path of European integration, they can keep it for themselves.

This is a staged play, "bringing" Mikheil Saakashvili to Georgia. It is very easy to see what it was made for. Because there should have been a confrontation and a coup. Because the Georgian government is not acceptable for our so-called friends. It is not acceptable because it does not get involved in the war and does everything that our country and people need," said Kaladze.

Michał Kobosko - we hope that your government eventually would either choose the European way, the democratic way or would resign seeing the number, the size and scale of the citizens' protests
