We saw that Merabishvili’s project was behind the sincere protest, - the member of the parliamentary majority, Irakli Kadagishvili, said while talking to journalists.

Kadagishvili responded to the statements made by the former Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Vano Merabishvili. According to him, it is clear to everyone what the goals of the radical opposition are.

"It is clear to everyone what the goals of the radical opposition are, it was especially evident when Russia's aggression began in Ukraine. Since that day, there has been an attempt to use Georgia as a second front. Today, we see that the leaders of the National Movement do not hesitate to directly state this goal on TV. Vano Merabishvili says directly: Our goal is to start a protest movement in order to change the government. Let's attack Russia to help Ukraine, let's start a war and put this country again in the same trouble as in 2008.

Therefore, we are doing everything together with our society so that Georgia does not become the next victim of the most destructive provocations. We have seen that behind the sincere protests of the youth, such forces are trying to implement these plans. During the recent protests, we saw that behind the sincere protest was Merabishvili’s project, the goal of which was not the sincere protest of the youth and the aspirations to get closer to the European Union, but to use all this and open a second front in Georgia. We were aware of this goal. It was not worth harming any of our fellow citizens", Kadagishvili said.
