Salome Samadashvili: If Tsulukiani wants to perform the functions of a prosecutor, she can start an investigation by interviewing Zurab Abashidze and asking him what happened to the paintings that were taken to Brussels when he was an ambassador

If Tsulukiani wants to perform the functions of a prosecutor, she can start an investigation by interviewing Zurab Abashidze and asking him what happened to the paintings that were taken to Brussels when he was an ambassador, Lelo MP Salome Samadashvili said at the briefing held in the Parliament.

As she noted, Tsulukiani accused her of losing a painting, which was given to the Georgian embassy in Belgium in 1993, and in 2005, she found a painting in the embassy without the author's signature, about which she informed the ministry.

"The public probably remembers that in September, when Ms. Tsulukiani came to the Parliament, she personally accused me that a painting was lost in the embassy and that it was related to my work. I requested information from her in this regard. Tsulukiani was obliged to give an answer in two weeks, however, I have just received answer, after I had repeatedly asked for information. What do we learn from the letter of the Minister of Culture is that the painting in question was given to our embassy in Belgium in 1993 and I informed the ministry years later, during my time as ambassador, that the painting, which was said to be the work of Kalandadze, did not have the author's signature. I don't know what information Tsulukiani had, but I studied at the first secondary school in 1993, while the ambassador in Brussels was Zurab Abashidze, who today is their representative for relations with Russia. Therefore, if Tsulukiani is interested in the fate of this painting, I advise her to contact Zurab Abashidze”, said Samadashvili.
