According to him, Georgian Dream leaving the European Socialists is a bad decision for the country.
"I think it is absolutely clear to everyone that the membership of Georgian Dream in the European Socialists camp really did not have any ideological foundations. This is not good for Georgia because this is another sign in this whole spectrum and package of anti-Western policies and actions that the Government has. Georgian Dream knew that they would be expelled from the European Socialists and they did it themselves several weeks or days earlier. Any decision that separates Georgia from Europe, including the bad Government we have and which needs to be changed, is bad for Georgia. Accordingly, this was expected because of lack of reforms, anti-Western rhetoric, rapprochement with Russia, unclear position regarding Ukraine, non-implementation of recommendations, etc. Therefore, this is a response.
No one has said that we should constantly escalate our relations with Russia, but we should have principled relations. When a country harms you, you have to analyze any gesture from it.
