According to Badri Japaridze, one of the leaders of Lelo, the attack on the participants in the camp organized by Zurab Japaridze and Girchi - More Freedom in Borjomi was directly encouraged by the Georgian Dream speakers’ aggressive statements.
As Japaridze pointed out, Georgian Dream directly repeats the practice of the last year of the previous ruling power.
"A completely outrageous, organized attack was carried out on Zura Japaridze and the participants in the camp organized by Girchi - More Freedom in Borjomi. This violence was directly incited by the aggressive statements made by Georgian Dream speakers towards their opponents.
I express my full solidarity with Zura and all the young people who were attacked. We all well remember the similar type of attacks in 2012, from the groups supporting the then government. It seems that Georgian Dream directly repeats the practice of the previous ruling power. We all saw how it all ended in the elections. The same result is inevitable for the Georgian Dream,” Japaridze said in his statement.
For information, the leader of Girchi - More Freedom was attacked near Smart in Gori. According to party member Ana Kurashvili, a stranger attacked Japaridze while he was in the car, as a result of which his eye was damaged.
