Davit Usupashvili: Dream says that it will not stop dreaming of becoming a one-party CEC and in this way it will lead the country to the elections. This will end them politically sooner

Dream says that it will not stop dreaming of becoming a one-party CEC and in this way it will lead the country to the elections. This will end them politically sooner, Lelo MP Davit Usupashvili said.

As he noted, the changes that the ruling party made in relation to the CEC contradict the implementation of 12 recommendations of the European Commission, as well as the Charles Michel agreement signed by them.

"It is written in the constitution that the President shall participate in the selection of the CEC chairman. Dream completely deprived her of this constitutional right and left her with a ridiculous right – if the commission created by the Chairman of the Parliament fails to select candidates, then the President can nominate a candidate. Obviously, we couldn't support that. This is contrary to the implementation of 12 recommendations. Why does Dream do this? - Because it is catastrophically afraid of something, it is afraid of everyone - the President, political groups, Europe and the world in general.

Let's see how the process will continue. At this stage, Dream says that it will not stop dreaming of becoming a one-party CEC and in this way it will lead the country to the elections. This will end them politically sooner," Usupashvili said.

He also responded to Irakli Kobakhidze's briefing on the implementation of recommendations to be held for tomorrow and noted that a noteworthy briefing on this matter has recently been held in Stockholm.

"Who we are and what we think here is important, but the most important thing is what the evaluator, that is, the examination commission, thinks. From their side, we received a completely unambiguous message that according to their own criteria, we have done less than half of the total. The country has done this in 12 months, there are 3 months left, and now in 3-4 minutes they will make another wrong decision in this hall on another topic, by leaving the law they adopted and not sharing the veto of the President," Usupashvili said.
