The city court sentenced 8 of the 9 accused persons in the Vake Park tragedy case to prison

The Tbilisi City Court acquitted only one of the 9 persons accused in the Vake Park tragedy case, Valeri Gobejishvili, and sentenced the other 8 persons to prison.

Judge Lasha Kldiashvili made the decision on the case.

More specifically, the following were sentenced to imprisonment:

Lasha Furtsvanidze, director of "Greenservice+" for 6 years, Giorgi Vakhtangishvili, Deputy Head of City Hall Environmental Protection Service, for 3 years, Devi Kakhoidze for 3 years, Nugzar Kitiashvili for 3.6 years, Davit Tushishvili for 3.6 years, Giorgi Gobejishvili for 4 years, Lasha Chighitashvili was sentenced to 3 years and Beka Mughgliani was sentenced to 3 years, while Valeri Gobejishvili was acquitted.

Proceedings of the Tbilisi City Court on the tragedy in Vaki Park were divided into 2 episodes. Discussion on the second episode is not over.

For information, on October 13, 2022, as a result of the tragedy in Vaki Park, 13-year-old Marita Mefarishvili died, and two teenagers - Andria Lortkifanidze and Lazare Lobzhanidze were injured.
