As Bokeria notes, even after the collapse of the Soviet Union, a weakened Russia was also a threat in our region.

"What is Gharibashvili telling us with his logic?! - When Ukraine repels the enemy, it should not take care of its security and should wait for Russia to attack again, so that it needs a big sacrifice again?! The same is said about Georgia. Russia will weaken after its unsuccessful aggression in Ukraine will end, and we should not take care that there is no danger, and we should no longer want NATO?! What nonsense and delusion. We have seen that even after the collapse of the Soviet Union, a weakened Russia was also a threat, and new threats may arise in our region," Bokeria notes.

According to him, apart from NATO and the USA, there is no other guarantee for our security.

It is in our national interest that while resisting Russian aggression, on this wave, we take care of our national security. But this care is not to distance yourself from Ukraine and to stay alone with Russia face to face with the West. This is the biggest danger. If we had a normal government, we should have taken advantage of this wave to be at the forefront of the NATO accession process. Instead, we are moving away from the civilized world, and thus this regime infinitely increases the danger to our country, if it leaves us alone, face to face with Russia, as it happened to us in the 90s," notes Giga Bokeria.

For information, Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili told journalists that at the NATO summit they directly announced that Ukraine cannot join NATO until it defeats Russia.

"If Ukraine defeats Russia, why will NATO membership be necesary?!", the Prime Minister said.
