A temporary access bridge to the Shovi disaster zone arranged

According to the Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure, the liquidation works of the disaster in the disaster area of Racha continue intensively. A temporary bridge has already been arranged and the construction of the road is being completed, which will significantly contribute to the search and rescue operation.

At the same time, construction of alternative access roads directly to the disaster area continues. The equipment continues to work as part of the rescue operation.

"At this stage, 43 units of equipment are working on the site, of which 15 units are directly in the disaster area. In addition, several dozen units will be added.

On August 3, the temporary Sarma bridge on the 136th km of the Kutaisi (Choma)-Alpana-Mamison pass highway and the bridge (Shovi) on the 139th km of the Kutaisi (Choma)-Alpana-Mamison pass highway were taken away by the river Chanchakhi as a result of the heavy rain. All types of traffic are prohibited on the mentioned sections of the road," the information reads.
