Irakli Kobakhidze: It is not clear how the so-called depolarization should happen, when the radical part of the opposition tries to score political points even on natural disasters

It is not clear how the so-called depolarization should happen, when the radical part of the opposition tries to score political points even on natural disasters, Georgian Dream Chairman Irakli Kobakhidze said at the plenary session of the Parliament.

According to him, under such attitudes of the opposition, the so-called depolarization cannot be implemented.

"One of the first demands of the European Union is depolarization. Against this background, we have seen that our political opponents use even tragedies to incite polarization in the country. It is not clear how the so-called depolarization should happen, when the radical part of the opposition tries to score political points even on natural disasters. The radical part of the opposition and their media are still attacking not only the ruling team, but even our heroic rescuers. Of course, in the conditions of such attitudes of the opposition, the so-called depolarization cannot be implemented," said Irakli Kobakhidze.

He also responded to the issue of impeachment of the President and noted that the radical opposition was trying to present the gross violation of the Georgian constitution as a European event.

"As you know, the radical part of the opposition tries to misinterpret any event. You all remember how they lied to the population and called American law a Russian law. Now they are trying to present the gross violation of the Georgian constitution as a European event. Georgian society is a society that carries traditional European values, and believe me, you cannot sell a flagrant violation of the constitution as a European event. When the National Movement was in power, violence against the constitution was one of its main features. Therefore, it is logical that the collective National Movement, Lelo, Gakharia, Japaridze Girchi and others using the same methods. Georgian society knows this very well, and believe me, the people will never bring back politicians who used to abuse the constitution," said Kobakhidze.
