Irakli Gharibashvili: For the third year, we continue the high rate of economic growth - the growth of the economy in 8 months is 7%, which is a significant progress considering all the circumstances and current factors in the world

For the third year, we continue the high rate of economic growth - the growth of the economy in 8 months is 7%, which is a significant progress considering all the circumstances and current factors in the world, Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili said about this at the government meeting.

According to him, initially 5% economic growth was forecasted in the current year's budget, but it was edited and now the growth is expected to be 6.5%.

"Today we are considering the first version of the 2024 budget, which we will send to the Parliament today. We have had strong economic growth for the last 2 years, and for the third year we have continued the high rate of economic growth. We adjusted the budget - 6.5% economic growth is expected this year. However, it was initially calculated very conservatively - it was calculated at 5%. Also, I would like to point out that the growth in 8 months is 7%, which is a significant progress considering all the circumstances and current factors in the world", said the Prime Minister.
