The so-called government of occupied Abkhazia voices the initiative to resume meetings within the framework of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) format.

The announcement was made by the so-called deputy minister of foreign affairs occupied Abkhazia, Irakli Tuzhba.

"The Abkhazian side has prepared another package of proposals for thawing the incident prevention and response format. I hope that our current proposals will receive an appropriate response in Georgia and we will be able to start working in this format," said Tuzhba.

According to him, Abkhazia has been actively working to restore the format for several years, but Tbilisi does not show any activity or desire to restore the IPRM.

"We believe that this is a very important format, a part of the Geneva process, the so-called local security mechanism. In 2021, we came out with official proposals, which we handed over to our Georgian colleagues through the representatives of the United Nations," Tuzhba said.
