Irakli Beraia: I will say for everyone to hear that I am not going to resign, everyone should understand this well, once and for all!

According to Irakli Beraia, chairman of the Defense and Security Committee, he is not going to resign from his parliamentary position.

He announced this at the meeting of the Defense Committee, where he responded to the request of Aleko Elisashvili, deputy of Citizens, to leave the post of the chairman.

"I have already talked about this topic once. Today, I will say once again that, of course, the unfortunate statement that was voiced by me at the plenary session, I think that it should not have been said, it was unacceptable, and I made a statement in this regard. Therefore, I am not going to go into more details on this topic, everything has been said. Also, for everyone to hear, I will say that I am not going to resign, I want everyone to understand this well, once and for all! As long as I and my team consider that in the Defense and Security Committee, we are doing everything for public interests, my position is this - speculations in this regard should end. I really do not ask you and some of your colleagues to apologize, because I believe that your thinking and your consciousness cannot achieve it. So, let's finish talking about this issue!" said Irakli Beraia.

For information, at the plenary session of the Parliament, the deputy of the parliamentary majority, Irakli Beraia, addressed the independent deputy of the Parliament, Teona Akubardia, with insulting remarks. After this, Irakli Beraia apologized.
