Lasha Khutsishvili: 70 million GEL will be allocated to start the construction of Anaklia port

During the discussion of the final version of the 2024 budget project, the Minister of Finance, Lasha Khutsishvili, spoke about the funds provided in the budget for the financing of Anaklia port and airports and said that 70 million GEL will be allocated to start the construction process of Anaklia port.

According to him, directly in the budget of 2024, 50 million GEL is provided for the construction of the infrastructure of the Anaklia port, which will be used for the preparation for the start of the construction of the water infrastructure, which is one of the three main components of the construction of the port, the financing of which will be undertaken by the state.

As he noted, 20 million GEL has been allocated for the construction of water infrastructure in 2023, and in total, 70 million GEL will be allocated to start the construction process.

"In addition, an international competition has been announced for the construction of the port infrastructure, and the private partner is being selected. For the construction of the port of Anaklia, additional funds will be allocated from the state in accordance with the project development and the commitments taken by the investor," said the Minister of Finance, Lasha Khutsishvili.

In addition, according to him, 67 million GEL funding is planned for airports in 2024, which includes: the start of construction of the runway of Kutaisi International Airport; the compilation of reconstruction of Telavi airport; The study of the construction of the new Tbilisi airport: the technical-economic study will be completed and the preparation of the detailed project will begin.
