Irakli Gharibashvili: Not a single fact of using our country to circumvent sanctions has been reported - up to 1000 cases of evasion of sanctions have been identified, but this was related to the products that were sent from Europe to Russia

According to Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili, the state has identified about 1,000 cases of evasion of sanctions. The Prime Minister announced this while presenting an annual report.

As Gharibashvili explained, not a single fact of using our country to circumvent sanctions has been reported.

"I want to touch on the issue of enforcement of sanctions - it is one of the main issues that have been discussed during this year. We have all heard too many groundless accusations, this has also been disproved. A few months ago, there was a high-level delegation that came to Georgia, the US sanctions coordinator, Mr. O'Brien, the EU sanctions coordinator, Mr. O'Sullivan and the representative of Great Britain, the sanctions coordinator, who openly, publicly said that they were satisfied with the effective system created by our government in terms of enforcement of sanctions. not a single fact of using our country to circumvent sanctions has been reported to date. We have worked as openly and transparently as possible, we will work and we will continue to do so in the future. Any decision we make is based on the national interests of our country and people. We have acted with utmost care so that no question arises for any of our partner countries, and it has happened, we have identified all such threats in time. Up to 1000 cases of evasion of sanctions have been identified, but this was related to the products that were sent from Europe to Russia. We immediately informed our European colleagues about this. I would like to thank Mr. Lasha Khutsishvili and his relevant agencies for timely prevention," said Gharibashvili.
