In 2024, Georgia will host the World Tourism Day

According to the decision of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), in 2024, Georgia will host the World Tourism Day. The information is distributed by the National Tourism Administration.

According to their information, the main theme of the event planned for 2024 is "tourism and peace".

"To attend the large-scale events dedicated to the World Tourism Day, which include holding cultural events and thematic discussion panels, as well as visiting various tourist places of the country, the Secretary General of the UNWTO, the Ministers of Tourism of the organization's member countries and other high-ranking guests will visit Georgia. Holding the presented event in Georgia will significantly contribute to the positioning of the country as an outstanding tourist destination worldwide.

During 2023, cooperation agreements and memorandums in the field of tourism were signed with the State of Israel, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala and Sri Lanka.

This format of cooperation is an excellent basis for sharing the best experience of partner countries, deepening relations with them within the field and further increasing the flow of visitors", the information states.
