According to the surgeon of the Republican Hospital, Malkhaz Gogua, they plan to file a lawsuit in the city court.

"Today is a continuation of the actions that took place. Our protests started because the government made a decision to demolish the hospital building, then an order was issued to fire the employees of the hospital building. The Republican Hospital is closing its operations in the next two weeks.

This is the continuation of the protest, we will not stop. On Saturday, we are going to hold a protest in front of the government house, because the ministry did not fulfill the conditions. That's why we are turning to the government.

Also, we will file a lawsuit in the city court against both the government's decision and this order.

We demand that the Republican Hospital not be closed. No one could convince us why this building would not be suitable for a hospital. The building is sustainable and many other things can be done here if not a hospital. There are no solid arguments why it won't work for the hospital", says Malkhaz Gogua.

For information, on January 26, an action was held near the Ministry of Health with the slogan - "Let's save the Republican Hospital together". They urged the minister to cancel the decision on reorganization. On the same day, the minister called the medical staff to a meeting in the Ministry of Health. The medical personnel present at the rally refused to attend the meeting. As they mentioned, they will meet the minister if he cancels the order on the reorganization of the clinic, and they are not going to talk about compensations.

For information, a new medical center will be built instead of the main medical building of the Republican Hospital. Due to the dismantling of the building, the government offers the employees of the Republican Hospital compensation and employment in other clinics. More specifically, as Minister of Health Zurab Azarashvili said, employees will have the opportunity to choose from several offers.
