In 2023, the largest number of visitors, 1.2 million, was recorded from the Russian Federation, accounting for 23.2 percent of the total number of visitors. Information about this is distributed by the National Statistical Service of Georgia.

According to the information, Turkey is in the second place with a share of 21.4%, and Armenia is in the third place with a share of 13.5%."In 2023, 7.1 million international non-resident travelers entered the territory of Georgia, which is 30.3 percent more than the previous year's figure. The largest share of arrivals, 45.5 percent, was made by travelers aged 31-50.

Out of the mentioned number, the number of visits made by international visitors amounted to 6.2 million, which is 31.2 percent more than the similar indicator of 2022.In 2023, the number of international visitors reached 5.1 million, which is 30.9 percent more than the same figure of the previous year. During the reporting period, 4.7 million tourist type visits were made by international visitors, which is 27.8 percent more than the same indicator of the previous year.75.2 percent of international visitors were tourists only, the share of excursionists only was 20.8 percent, and 3.9 percent of visitors were both tourists and excursionists.

Most of the visits were made in Tbilisi and Ajara A/R, respectively, 3.0 million and 2.7 million visits.The average number of nights spent during visits made in 2023 amounted to 5.4 nights, which is 13.6 percent less than the previous year (6.2 nights). 72.8 percent of the visits were repeat visits.The expenses incurred during the visits in 2023 equaled 12.9 billion GEL, which is 20.5 percent more than the previous year. The average cost per visit decreased by 8.1 percent compared to 2022 and amounted to 2,097.4 GEL," the information says.
