The stability and security of our country, the protection of each family, the strengthening of the country's sovereignty, the peaceful settlement of the Russia-Georgia conflict and the restoration of the territorial integrity of Georgia remain the unchanging priorities of the Georgian government, – reads the government program, which was presented to the Parliament of Georgia together with the renewed government today.

The program talks about the occupation and regional crises, and it is noted that the challenges in this regard have increased.

"After the restoration of independence, Georgia had to develop against the background of the occupation of our country's territories, serious global and regional crises. In recent years, the challenges have unfortunately grown and intensified. Against this background, stability and security of our country, protection of each family, strengthening of the country's sovereignty, peaceful resolution of the Russia-Georgia conflict and restoration of Georgia's territorial integrity remain the unchanging priorities of the Georgian government.

Against the background of global challenges, in order for sustainable and inclusive development to reflect the welfare of citizens, it is necessary to ensure the continuity of reforms, to use resources and potential to the maximum and to cooperate effectively with international partners.

Accordingly, the goal of the current government program is to stimulate the economy more, maintain a stable and safe environment for each citizen, strengthen democratic institutions and take effective steps necessary for Georgia's accession to the European Union," reads the government program.

According to the document, the government's efforts will focus on several key areas.

In terms of foreign policy, the document emphasizes the irreversibility of integration into the European Union and the peaceful resolution of the Russia-Georgia conflict.

"Foreign policy, irreversibility of integration into the European Union, peaceful resolution of the Russia-Georgia conflict, ensuring security and stable development of the country; Public security - the main task of the state remains Georgia's accession to the European Union and Euro-Atlantic structures, peaceful restoration of the country's territorial integrity, de-occupation, further strengthening of Georgia's regional and global role in order to ensure the further rapid development of the country.

Based on the growing challenges of the security environment, the government's goal, based on the total defense approach, is to raise the level of the country's defense capability and strategic readiness, as well as to strengthen the fight against crime, to protect human rights with a high standard, and to ensure a safe environment. As a result, the government will be able to create a calm and stable environment for the population," reads the document.

Another issue that is among the priorities of the program is economic development.

"The main tasks of the economic policy are to ensure macroeconomic stability, structural improvement of the economy, development of foreign trade and promotion of economic integration of Georgia with the European Union. An integral part of the mentioned goal is the development of tourism, support of agriculture, local investments and entrepreneurial activities, which will create prerequisites for the growth of citizens' well-being. The government's goal is to make Georgia a key economic hub at the global and regional level. As a result, it will be possible to increase employment and improve the standard of living of citizens", - reads the program.

According to the program, another priority of the government is the development of social policy and human capital.

"In this direction, the goal of the government is to improve the health status of the population and ensure universal access to quality healthcare services. The strong policy of the government is to strengthen the social protection system in the country and promote employment. At the same time, the development of quality education system, support of science, technology and innovation remain a priority, which will contribute to the formation of an even stronger and knowledge-equipped society", - reads the program.

The government program states that building democratic institutions remains a priority.

"State governance - the construction of democratic institutions and the development of the public service system remain the government's unchanging priority, which also ensures the acceleration of Georgia's full-fledged integration into the European Union. The government continues to provide services to citizens with an even higher standard and implement policies based on real needs and evidence," the document states.

The document also says that the government expresses its full readiness, with the involvement of the public and the support of international partners, to create the European future of Georgia.

The government program creates solid foundations for the rapid development of the country in the coming years, both nationally, regionally and globally, brings us closer to the historical goal of joining the European Union and serves a better future for every citizen.
