Zurab Azarashvili: In the near future, the Ministry of Health will finance early studies for patients with oncological diseases

Special attention is paid to consideration of the needs of citizens with an oncological diagnosis. Since last year, the services of chemo, hormone and radiation therapy, as well as oncosurgery have been financed for all citizens of Georgia, Zurab Azarashvili said about this during his speech in the legislative body.

The candidate for the Ministry of Health noted that in the near future, the agency will finance early researches for patients with oncological diseases.

Zurab Azarashvili also spoke about the program of treatment abroad for children diagnosed with oncology and noted that in this direction, international cooperation will lay the foundation for the development of children's oncology services in Georgia.

According to him, the Ministry has started working on a project that involves the training of young doctors in the field of oncology in leading foreign clinics.

"It should be noted that the abroad treatment program for children diagnosed with oncology started in 2023, within the framework of which high-quality and high-tech services for children are covered in 6 partner clinics in Spain, Israel and Turkey. Since the launch of the program until now, 50 small patients have benefited from the program or are in the process of being served," said the candidate for the Ministry of Health.
