The Public Defender made a proposal to the National Enforcement Bureau to limit the eviction process of those who lose their only home during the winter

Today, the Public Defender of Georgia applied to the National Enforcement Bureau with a proposal to limit the eviction process of those people who lose their only housing during the winter.
The Office of the Public Defender disseminates the information about this.
According to their reports, based on the principles of reasonableness and proportionality of the eviction procedure, the Public Defender relied on the definitions, general comments and best practices of the UN International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights and European Social Charter Committees in his appeal.
"The Public Defender paid particular attention to the socio-economic background in the country, taking into account the principles and rights established in the Constitution of Georgia should be interpreted. From this point of view, it is important for the eviction procedure to ensure a fair balance of opposing interests and not to contribute to the evicted persons falling into a particularly vulnerable situation", the information said.
