Giorgi Orvelashvili and his brother, Gogita Orvelashvili, accused in the case of killing four people and wounding one person in the Istanbul market, were imprisoned as a preventive measure.
According to the prosecutor of the case, Ketevan Sonidze, the motive of the crime was revenge. In particular, according to the information of the prosecution, the accused Giorgi Orvelashvili worked with his uncle in the market, due to a conflict between them, his uncle fired him from his job, after which the crime took place. The lawyer of the accused in the murder of four persons states that, depending on the scale of the crime, apart from the use of imprisonment as a preventive measure, the defense had no other expectations from the court."The Rustavi City Court discussed today the issue of preventive measures - it used the most severe form of imprisonment against Giorgi Orvelashvili. The defense had no other expectations based on the scale of the crime.
As for the composition of the bail, yesterday I agreed with Giorgi Orvelashvili on the position that if he was able to pay the money, then we would file this petition, but Giorgi Orvelashvili categorically stated that his family cannot afford it, nor does he own real estate.
Giorgi Orvelashvili does not talk about motives. I don't know for what purpose he committed this crime. Probably, he was not in a state of unconsciousness, since [the incident] happened in the morning hours. As for the mental problem, Giorgi doesn't seem to have anything visually, but internally, a person can come to the point of suspecting that he is suffering from some kind of illness. There is an appropriate examination that should confirm whether Giorgi was defamed during the commission of the crime.
As Giorgi says, he was injured on his face before his arrest, in what circumstances, it is unknown to me," said Eldar Gvalia.
For information, in Rustavi, as a result of the shooting in the market of Istanbul, four people were killed, one was wounded, and the clinic is located in "Rustavi". Law enforcement officers arrested the man on the spot.
In addition, it should be noted that on February 20, Giorgi Orvelashvili's brother was also arrested by the law enforcement officers. The weapon from which the shot was fired belonged to Giorgi Orvelashvili's brother.
