Salome Zurabishvili: We will face the threat of Russian intervention this year, because the parliamentary elections are in October

We will face the threat of Russia's intervention this year, because there are parliamentary elections in October. So, I am sure that we should expect a lot of intervention, a hybrid war is going on against Georgia, - said the President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili in an interview with Deutsche Welle.

The president was asked what the evidence of Russia's interference in Georgia is.

"We are closer and the Russian services know us much better. They know people, our character. So, in a way, it is easier for them to intervene in Georgia because it is a familiar ground for them. At the same time, Soviet propaganda is well known to the Georgian people, which is not much different from today's Russian propaganda. So, maybe our resilience is a bit higher, but we will be at risk of that [Russian interference] this year, because there are parliamentary elections in October. So, I am sure, we should expect a lot of interventions, a hybrid war is going on against Georgia," the president said.
