Levan Davitashvili: We are working individually with Moldova, Ukraine, Georgia to soon become part of a single roaming space

We are working individually with the countries (Moldova, Ukraine, Georgia) to soon become part of a single roaming space. I hope that we will make progress this year, - the Minister of Economy, Levan Davitashvili told journalists after the government meeting.

According to him, Georgia has done a lot of work, although it is planned to adopt certain legislative acts in this direction during the spring session.

"It is very important that we join the common roaming space of Europe and, accordingly, the population can use the local rates of roaming services when traveling in Europe. Although it will be difficult for us to name a specific date, it is not up to us. The decision is up to the European Commission. There is a specific action plan, what needs to be done from our side. Work on this is going on intensively. This is mainly the adoption of certain regulatory acts that will be in line with European legislation. A lot of work has already been done in this regard, you have seen and heard the statements in the European Commission, Georgia has already done a lot of work, it was among the member countries of the advanced association trio, which implemented reforms. However, the decision was made to make a joint statement when Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine joined the single roaming space. In this case, we are working individually with the countries to soon become part of a single roaming space. I hope that we will make progress this year. Within the framework of the spring session, we have legislative initiatives that we intend to adopt, and in the end we will probably respond to the demands of the European Commission", said Levan Davitashvili.
