Archil Talakvadze: Georgia has European standard police and Ministry of Internal Affairs

Every day, policemen leave their homes ready to confront the most difficult threats, they leave their families all day to protect other people's families, - the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament, Archil Talakvadze, said at the plenary session, where MPs are listening to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Vakhtang Gomelauri.

Archil Talakvadze thanked each policeman and expressed his support to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

"I bow to the heroic policemen and firefighters, to each employee who set an example of professionalism and dedication to the community. Criminals should know that an attack on each police officer is an attack on society and the state. Therefore, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has our uncompromising support in this struggle as well.

Today, the report was submitted by the minister, who fulfills his word and the given conditions. I will remind you of the previous "Minister's Hour": what Mr. Vakhtang Gomelauri spoke then - the policemen will have new equipment, new infrastructure, the social conditions of the employees will improve and we will have progress in the fight against crime - each condition has been fulfilled today," said Archil Talakvadze.

According to him, the Georgian police received the status of a full-fledged partner of Europol during the period when "Georgian Dream" was in power.

"Europol - the European police structure - recognized that Georgia has a police force of European standards and a Ministry of Internal Affairs," said Archil Talakvadze.
