There was noise and verbal confrontation at the plenary session of the Parliament

At the plenary session of the Parliament, there was a verbal confrontation between the members of the parliamentary majority and the opposition MPs.

Along with criticizing the initiative to abolish gender quotas, the opposition also protested the decision of "Georgian Dream" to re-initiate the "Transparency of Foreign Influence" bill in the Parliament.

Deputies, Khatia Dekanoidze and Aleko Elisashvili, during their speech at the session, emphatically stated that this is a "Russian law", which caused the irritation of "Kartli Dream" deputies.

The leader of the majority, Mamuka Mdinaradze, asked the opposition MPs to explain why the said law was called "Russian" and why the declaration of finances is a "Russian matter".

The argument turned into a verbal confrontation. The employees of the Mandatory Service tried to ease the situation. The Chairman of the Parliament announced a technical break for a few minutes. The session has been resumed for now.
