Employees of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested 18 people for drug crimes across the country, including 8 drug dealers. According to the information published by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the arrested persons are citizens of Georgia and other countries.

According to their own reports, various types of narcotic substances were recovered, such as: "Heroin", "Alpha PVP", "Buprenorphine", "MDMA", "Methadone", "Suboxin", "Marijuana" and the narcotic plant hemp.

"Employees of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Tbilisi Police Department, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, Imereti, Adjara, Kvemo Kartli and Guria Police Departments, as a result of recent operational measures and investigative actions, arrested 18 people for drug crimes in Tbilisi and the regions, including 8 are drug dealers.

Among the arrested are both Georgian and foreign citizens.

The crimes are punishable by up to 20 years or life imprisonment.

On the basis of the judge's ruling, the law enforcement officers made control purchases of drugs from persons arrested on the charge of illegal possession of drugs several times and made secret audio-video recording of said purchases. The police seized the narcotic drugs illegally sold by the detainees as evidence, as well as the money allegedly obtained as a result of the illegal sale of drugs and electric scales.

During the search of the personal and residences of the persons arrested on drug charges, the law enforcement officers also seized a large amount of narcotics, including: "Heroin", "Alpha PVP", "Buprenorphine", "MDMA", "Methadone" from various locations indicated by them. ", "Suboxin", "Marijuana" and the narcotic plant hemp.

The facts are being investigated under articles 260, 19-260, 262, 265 and 273 of the Criminal Code of Georgia," the agency said.
