Lelo for Georgia calls on Georgia's strategic allies to start putting pressure on Bidzina Ivanishvili and his government with all levers provided by international law

The Lelo for Georgia party calls on Georgia's strategic allies to start putting pressure on Bidzina Ivanishvili and his government with all the levers provided by international law.

As stated in the statement released by the party, they call on their allies to stand by the Georgian people, "who need strong international assistance to save the Georgian state and democracy."

"The Georgian authorities brutally cracked down on a peaceful protest against the Russian law, which deprives the Georgian people of their European future and threatens them with re-sovietization.

The government has left the framework of the constitution and is changing the foreign policy course of the country by forceful methods.

Full responsibility for reprisals, persecution and brutality against peaceful protesters rests with the Prime Minister. The Minister of Internal Affairs, who executes illegal orders, will also have to take this responsibility. Such a government should not rule our country! They have lost their legitimacy!

Today and now, it is important to immediately stop the violence against our own citizens and peaceful protesters. An investigation into today's raid and an evaluation of all criminal orders and actions must begin immediately!

The Lelo for Georgia party calls on the strategic allies of our country to start putting pressure on Bidzina Ivanishvili and his government with all the levers provided by international law. We call on them to stand by the Georgian people, who need strong international assistance to save the Georgian state and democracy.

Georgian people will not stop fighting for the country's independence. Our party stands firmly on the front line in this decisive battle," reads the party's statement.
