According to FT, next week, Estonia, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic and Sweden will appear at the meeting of the EU Foreign Ministers. The options include suspending visa -free travel to Georgian citizens, deliberate sanctions and freezing EU cash.
EU officials have told the publication that European capitals will discuss "different measures of pressure on the Georgian government".
"You have to be careful not to remove the wrong people," said one EU diplomat.
"It is likely that the EU will act more slowly than Washington, as some countries fear that visa -free travel can be reversed, as tens of thousands of Georgians have come out on the streets with tens of thousands of Georgian flags in recent weeks," FT.
