Antony Blinken: We are very concerned about the Foreign Agents Law, this is copied directly from the Moscow manual, its adoption will have consequences

"Unfortunately, this is copied directly from Moscow's manual," US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in connection with Georgia's bill on "transparency of foreign influence".
Blinken said the U.S. is working very hard on what it can do in response, and "we will definitely act."
According to him, the adoption of this law will have consequences.
Speaking about the US foreign policy in the Foreign Relations Committee of the United States House of Representatives, Congressman Bill Keating asked the Secretary of State to comment on the current events in Georgia.
"We are very concerned about the Foreign Agents Law, which was adopted [in Georgia]. I think, unfortunately, this is copied directly from the Moscow manual. This clearly contradicts the desire of the majority of Georgian people to move towards the European Union and European integration. We're working very hard on what we can do in response to this, and we're definitely going to act. The European Union is also considering the impact of this law on Georgia's accession process. So, I would say that the adoption of this law will have consequences", said the US Secretary of State.
