I think that the process will end tomorrow and, of course, the Parliament will surely override the veto, - the Chairman of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, said when he spoke about the procedure for overriding the President's veto on the law "On Transparency of Foreign Influence".
He explained the procedures of the session and noted that statements last about 2-3 hours, then the issue of veto will be discussed.
"It is in the interest of the Georgian people that the foreign funding that comes in and affects their lives be known - where it comes from and what it is spent on. It is the interest and will of the Georgian people that this right should not be taken away from them and should not be dependent on the goodwill of foreigners and NGOs. This is Georgia, it is the state of Georgian citizens, and every citizen has the right to know all the details about the foreign money that comes into this state and is spent on issues that affect the citizens of Georgia. This is the interest of the Georgian people, the will of the Georgian people, the Parliament of Georgia acts under the mandate of the Georgian people, and of course their will must be implemented," Papuashvili said.
As for the attendance of the opposition at the session, as Papuashvili noted, the opposition is waiting for instructions from outside.
"They announced a boycott and to tell the truth, I can't understand whether they are still in the boycott or not. They are waiting for instructions from outside. If the Members of Parliament are waiting for instructions from outside the country and will tell them whether to boycott or not, this is a disaster," Papuashvili said.
