Vladimir Putin will not stop at the borders of Ukraine, Russia is also a threat to Georgia, Moldova and ultimately to NATO, - German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said in his speech in the German Parliament (Bundestag).
"Russia's victory will ultimately cost us more than helping Ukraine today," Pistorius said, noting that Vladimir Putin "will not stop at Ukraine's borders," but has more far-reaching goals.
"Russia is also a threat to Georgia, Moldova and ultimately NATO. Russia's war economy is working toward another conflict," Pistorius said.
According to him, "we must be ready for war by 2029" and "we must ensure deterrence to avoid the worst-case scenario."
"In an emergency situation, we need young women and men who will be able to defend this country. We need a new form of military service," Pistorius said, noting that he will submit a proposal on this issue in the near future.
