I am pleased that my friend Steve Daines met with Georgia’s legitimate President Salome Zurabishvili and opposition parties. The anti-American “Georgian Dream” regime is attacking President Trump and suppressing the opposition, wrote Congressman Joe Wilson (Republican Party), the author of the “MEGOBARI Act,” on his X page.

“I am pleased that my friend Senator Steve Daines met with Georgia’s legitimate President Salome Zurabishvili and opposition parties in Tbilisi. The anti-American ‘Georgian Dream’ regime is attacking President Trump and suppressing the opposition. The only way forward is the release of all political prisoners and the holding of free and fair elections!” Wilson wrote.

For reference, U.S. Senator Steve Daines, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, met with representatives of opposition parties and Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze during his visit to Georgia.
