Patriarch: We express our special thanks to Mr. Bidzina Ivanishvili, who, along with many important things, enriched our cultural treasure with this most important manuscript

We express our special thanks to Mr. Bidzina Ivanishvili, who, along with many important things, enriched our cultural treasure with this most important manuscript, - Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II says in his statement.

According to the patriarch, the liturgical texts copied by Ioane Zosime in 979 are extremely valuable for the history of Georgian church literature.

"The ancient manuscript of Ioane Zosime will be returned to Georgia.

We were very happy to hear that the palimpsest was purchased by the Georgian side at the Christie's auction today. The liturgical texts copied in 979 by the greatest liturgist working on Mount Sinai, Ioane Zosime, are extremely valuable for the history of Georgian church literature.

We express our special thanks to Mr. Bidzina Ivanishvili, who, along with many important things, enriched our cultural treasure with this most important manuscript.

May God bless this great charity of his for the good of our holy church and motherland," reads Ilia II's statement.
