If Trump wins, the war in Ukraine will end sooner. Consequently, the region will calm down sooner and the attitude towards Georgia will also change in such a situation. There will be more justice for Georgia, - the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, told reporters when he answered a question of what will change in relation to Georgia in case of Donald Trump's victory.
According to Irakli Kobakhidze, if there is peace in the region, the attitude towards Georgia will also change.
"Of course, we cannot interfere in anyone's elections, especially in the presidential elections of such a large country, the USA. This is not our business. The only thing that can be said is that if Trump wins the elections, the war in Ukraine will end sooner and, accordingly, our region will calm down sooner, which will change the attitude towards Georgia in particular. If there is peace in the region, the attitude towards Georgia will also change. This is all that can be said about it. The rest is the choice of the American people. The American people should decide who will be the president of the USA", said Kobakhidze.
According to him, the opposition has changed its rhetoric towards Trump.
"The opposition not only criticized Trump, you remember how they used harsh, insulting terms to refer to the former American president. Today, their rhetoric has changed because, according to their calculations, Trump is very likely to win the election. However, naturally, no one can forget the harsh rhetoric they used over the years.
I repeat, if Trump wins, the war in Ukraine will end sooner. Consequently, the region will calm down sooner and the attitude towards Georgia will also change in such a situation. There will be more justice towards Georgia. For example, when Georgia was not granted candidate status in June 2022, of course, a very gross injustice. I think such injustices will not happen again if the situation in the region calms down soon", said Kobakhidze.
