Olympics opening ceremony underway in Paris

The opening ceremony for the Summer Olympic Games is underway in Paris.

The Parade of Nations is taking place on the Seine itself, with boats carrying thousands of athletes through the center of Paris.

Organizers say the show must go on, despite the bumpy start.

Officials and delegates are among those in the stands, and each country gets a warm reception after being announced to the crowd.Organizers estimated the crowd size will surpass 320,000 spectators. Attendance capacity at the opening ceremony was slashed due to security reasons.
